Well, I haven't posted anything in a while and since I have a lot of free time, I thought I'd go ahead and give Melissa something to read, being that she's the only one who looks at this thing.
I went on a mission trip this summer; June 2nd-9th, to be exact. It was one of the greatest weeks of my life. We traveled to El Salvador and spent the week hanging out with people, teaching the kids, putting floors in dirt floor houses, laying concrete etc. It was amazing to me how well we could communicate even with the language barrier.
This is a picture of us doing some concrete work at one of the 2 churches we worked at.

While we were there, my best friend Amanda and I befriended an 11 year old boy named JOSÉ. He was so sweet, and adorable. He could say a few phrases in english, and we taught him games to play where talking wasn't needed. He followed me and Amanda around the enitre time, and I was so sad to leave him!

We did find some time to relax at the end of the week. One day we went sight-seeing for a few hours, and even got to go inside a volcano. It was neat, but the ride to the top in the bus was the scariest thing I've ever encountered. This is me standing beside a lake of diluted sulfuric acid, inside the volcano.

On Friday we rented out some sort of resort on the beach an hour away and took all the kids from both churches. We swam, and played games, and had an awesome time. El Salvador was amazing, and there is so much more I could say about it. I can't wait to go back.
